Born in China in 1946, arrived in Australia in 1990.
1988 – 2022, he has 65 solo exhibitions in Australia, China, Japan, Taiwan, Singapore, Italy, Hong Kong and UK (London).
Hong won Shirley Hannan National Portrait Prize 2002 and finalist of the Archibald Prize 2008, 2009, 2021, 2022. His artwork was selected into Archie 100 exhibition in Art Gallery of NSW. He is the finalist of the Darling Portrait Prize 2022 and won the highly commended award.
